EDWARDIAN PIERCED STERLING SILVER SWING-HANDLED BASKET, LONDON, 1914

An Edwardian sterling silver fruit basket of oval form, hallmarked London, 1914, by the Regent Street firm Wilson & Gill. The piece features a broad rim decorated with intricate hand-pierced scrolling foliate and arabesque motifs beneath a cast scalloped border of C-scrolls and shells. It is equipped with a central overhead swing handle composed of interlaced openwork lattice and cast floral rosettes. The basket rests on four integrated bun feet. The interior well remains unadorned, displaying makers marks.
