LARGE GEORGE V CHASED STERLING SILVER PLATTER, NEW YORK, 1917

A large Tiffany & Co. silver dish, of oval form with plain flat base rising to a wide rim engraved with scrolling foliate designs and applied silver shell decoration, the perimeter of the dish with acanthus leaf band. Bearing the 'm' directorship mark for John C. Moore, this platter represents the pinnacle of Tiffany’s mid-century craftsmanship and classical revivalist aesthetic.
