A fine set of Late Victorian sterling silver butter pats, executed by the preeminent American silversmith Tiffany & Co. during the distinguished directorship of founder Charles L. Tiffany. These pieces, bearing pattern number 9854 and maker’s mark 302, date precisely to 1888. Each circular pat features a sophisticated repoussé border of scrolling acanthus and shell motifs, characteristic of the period's preference for ornate, neoclassical textures. Remarkably, the set remains accompanied by its original, vibrant red suede roll-case, preserving the silver’s delicate finish. This ensemble represents a superb example of 19th-century domestic luxury and Tiffany’s enduring craftsmanship.
