A George VI sterling silver salver of shaped circular form, featuring a classic "Chippendale" style scalloped rim. The field is expertly decorated with an elaborate band of flat-chased foliate scrolls, shells, and imbricated scales, centered by a crisp armorial crest depicting an anchor entwined with a pike. The tray is raised upon three scrolling hoof feet, exhibiting the robust gauge and refined finishing characteristic of mid-century Sheffield craftsmanship. Preserved in excellent condition, this piece displays a full set of clear hallmarks for Stower & Wragg Ltd., dated 1937.
