An impressive Italian silver centerpiece of substantial gauge, expertly executed in the flamboyant Rococo Revival taste. The piece features a deep, oval bowl with a scalloped rim, profusely decorated with repoussé foliate scrolls, shell motifs, and fine chasing against a stippled ground. The bowl is supported by a finely cast and finished figure of a playful cherub or putto, balanced atop an ornate, spreading base. Bearing the "Lavorazione a Mano" (Handmade) designation and Milanese hallmarks, this work exemplifies the high-caliber artisanal traditions of 20th-century Italian silversmithing.
