MID-CENTURY ITALIAN RATIONALIST 800 SILVER TRAY, PADUA, c. 1948–1968
.800 Silver; 2351 g
An impressive mid-century Italian silver serving tray of substantial gauge, expertly crafted by the renowned Paduan silversmiths F.lli Zaramella. This rectangular piece exemplifies Italian Rationalism, a movement which peaked in the mid-20th century. It features a sleek, undecorated mirror-finish field framed by a stepped, molded rim and set with two robust, elegantly scrolled handles.
The underside bears the "800" fineness mark alongside the distinctive "30 PD" lozenge, the registration number assigned to Zaramella in 1948. The absence of the post-1968 star mark confirms this as an early, high-quality production from the firm’s golden era, balancing modernist clean lines with traditional European craftsmanship.
