This fine pair of three-light ormolu candelabra captures the musical whimsy of the Second Empire. Each piece features a masterfully cast seated putto: one striking a drum with detailed skins and tension cords, the other holding a pair of resonant cymbals. The figures rest upon neoclassical bases inset with vibrant "bleu céleste" Sèvres-style porcelain plaques, each decorated with delicate floral sprays. Rising from a central fluted urn, the foliate-scrolled branches terminate in beaded nozzles and drip pans. The ensemble is supported by a shaped plinth with Greek-key motifs and prominent ram’s head masks, exhibiting exceptional Parisian chasing throughout.
