A William IV sterling silver salver, hallmarked London, 1835. The circular tray is designed with a wide, cast border featuring a repeating arrangement of scrolling acanthus leaves, shells, and floral clusters. The interior field is decorated with extensive flat-chased ornamentation, consisting of foliate scrolls and flower heads set against a finely textured ground. At the center, an engraved dragon-head crest is positioned within a circular reserve. The salver is elevated by three scrolled bracket feet integrated into the underside of the rim. This piece represents a high-gauge example of London silversmithing from the mid-1830s, characterized by the intricate chasing of the period.
