George IV three-piece sterling silver tea service, crafted in London in 1822 by the esteemed silversmith George Hunter II. This set, comprising a teapot, two-handled sugar bowl, and cream jug, epitomizes the transition from late Regency to early Victorian opulence. Each piece features a compressed globular form, masterfully repoussé-chased with a dense profusion of autumnal florals and scrolling acanthus foliage against a finely matted ground. Supported by ornate cast bracket feet with shell and scroll motifs, the set retains a commanding presence, further enhanced by the teapot’s finely detailed floral finial and elegant C-scroll handles.
