An Elizabeth II sterling silver footed cake tray of substantial gauge, hallmarked for Sheffield, 1960, bearing the prestigious maker’s mark of Walker & Hall. The shallow circular body is exquisitely decorated with a broad band of intricate pierced lattice work and repoussé grape clusters amidst scrolling vines. This Bacchic motif is echoed in the heavy, cast twin-handles and the ornate, scalloped rim. Elevated on a conforming circular pedestal foot, the central well remains polished and unengraved, showcasing the lustrous quality of the silver. It represents a fine example of mid-century British craftsmanship utilizing classical Victorian-revival aesthetics.
