EDWARDIAN CUT-GLASS AND SILVER-MOUNTED CLARET JUG, BIRMINGHAM, 1909

Lead Cut Crystal and Sterling Silver ;

Rs. 55,000.00 + GST

An elegant Edwardian sterling silver-mounted claret jug of tall, conical form, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1909, by the specialist silversmith Thomas Woolley. The glass body is intricately decorated with deep diamond-cut geometric patterns and radiating starburst motifs, rising to a slender neck and a twisted glass handle. The mount features a polished silver collar and a hinged, scalloped pouring lip, surmounted by a faceted glass finial that echoes the brilliance of the body. This piece serves as a superb example of the refined craftsmanship and sophisticated table service aesthetic prevalent in early 20th-century English silver and glass production.
