CUT AND WHEEL ENGRAVED BOHEMIAN GLASS AND STERLING SILVER DECANTER, LONDON, 1973
Lead cut-crystal and Sterling silver .;
An elegant and well-proportioned sterling silver-mounted glass decanter, the silver collar hallmarked for London, 1973. This piece exemplifies the mid-to-late 20th-century revival of classical Bohemian glass-working techniques. The teardrop-shaped body features a striking cranberry flash-overlay, meticulously wheel-engraved with a wide band of floral and foliate motifs. This decorative frieze is framed by deep, precision-cut diamond patterns to the shoulder and base, ensuring a brilliant play of light. The ensemble is completed by a matching faceted stopper with a cranberry core. It represents a sophisticated blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern London silversmithing.
