AN ELIZABETH II STERLING SQUARE SILVER SALVER, LONDON, 1964
Sterling silver; 712 g
Each piece is individually priced based on provenance, condition and availability.
A shaped-square waiter with incurved corners and a stepped, moulded Chippendale-style border, raised on four leaf-capped scroll feet.
It was made by Garrard & Co., the Crown Jewellers, and carries the firm's retailer's stamp from its famous 112 Regent Street premises. The design goes back to the Georgian salvers of the 1740s, which Garrard, as heirs to George Wickes's workshop founded in 1735, reproduced in their own tradition well into the twentieth century.
Condition Note: Good condition. Light surface scratches and wear from use to the field and underside. The feet are sound. There is no engraving and no removals.
L. 25.8cm, B. 25.8cm wide
