Each piece is individually priced based on provenance, condition and availability.
An oval bowl of squat baluster shape. The flaring rim is wavy and frilled, and the neck is finely textured with vertical chased lines so that it looks like fabric or a shell. Around the shoulder runs a garland chased in high relief with roses and star-shaped flowers. Below it, broad acanthus leaves and fern fronds rise from the base. Each side has a Rococo C-scroll cartouche, and one cartouche is engraved with a crest. The two handles are cast as curling leafy scrolls. The bowl stands on an oval pedestal foot chased with shells and scrolling foliage on a matted ground, and the interior is gilded.
Condition: The chasing is crisp and deep throughout. The gilt lining is bright. The crest is lightly rubbed. The bowl rocks slightly on its foot. Light scratches and wear from use.
Length: 20 cm (7¾ in) across the handles
