A PEAR-SHAPED FRENCH SILVER COFFEE POT, PARIS, 1819–1838

A pear-shaped coffee pot on three leaf-capped ball-and-claw feet, with a scroll handle and a hinged domed cover topped by a turned wooden finial. The body is engraved with a coat of arms beneath the motto Amicis Inimicis Promptus ("ready for friend and foe").

Condition Report: The pot stands well and does not wobble on it's feet. The lid and hinge close well and snugly. No dents or bruises to the body, but surface scuffs commensurate with age and use, and the crest is crisp and clear.
