Each piece is individually priced based on provenance, condition and availability.

Each of shaped-circular form with a gadrooned border, raised on three supports, the centre engraved with an armorial above the motto 'Probitas verus honos' meaning 'integrity is true honour'. The engraving now softened through age and polishing.

Catalogue Note: John Crouch I and Thomas Hannam were among the foremost salver makers of late eighteenth-century London, and their workshop specialised almost exclusively in this form. The gadrooned border is characteristic of the 1790s, when the fine beading of the Neoclassical period gave way to the more robust edging that would continue into the Regency. Pairs of salvers of this scale were commissioned to be used together on the sideboard, and their survival as a pair is notable.

Condition: Good overall. The armorials are rubbed, with surface scratches and wear consistent with age and use. The marks are clear.
