A BRILLIAN-CUT AND FLORAL CRYSTAL DECANTER, EUROPE, MID-20th CENTURY

A lead crystal wine decanter of substantial weight, featuring a waisted neck and a globular body. The exterior is masterfully decorated with a series of hand-cut floral sprays, executed in deep intaglio wheel-cutting to create a three-dimensional, naturalistic effect. The neck is finished with vertical facet-cuts leading to a broad, polished rim, and it is fitted with a matching sphere-form stopper featuring matching cut-flowers. The piece is supported by a star-cut base, typical of high-end mid-century glasswork.
